Rethinking food waste: several aspects of Denmark’s success
Project “NGOs vs. Household food waste: scaling up Baltic-Nordic cooperation”
Objective – to equip NGO with knowledge and skills on prevention of food waste in households by creating long term cooperation, transfer of knowledge and know-how and jointly developing and implementing tools for prevention of food waste.
Partners: Lithuanian Consumer Institute, SFOF Djursland (Denmark), Belorussian Society of Consumers Protection.
Denmark has more initiatives against food waste in Europe than any other country — from awareness campaigns, partnerships to government subsidies. Our partner SFOF Djursland provided with short information about Waste food café in Århus and gave advise how to set up and operate successful non-governmental food waste prevention organization at the local level and teach schoolchildren.
