Food waste-themed infotainment at summer events in Bulgaria and Lithuania
Sincerely, Food, an initiative to address household food waste, took to streets to offer consumers some interactive food waste-themed infotainment activities. A street food & music Festival in Bourgas (Bulgaria) and a popular ideas festival, Freedom Picnic, in Lithuania accommodated Sincerely, Food’s tents, offering a series of games specially developed to put key messages across. Each game had its own narrative, covering water footprint of food, product expiration dates, a product’s journey, and the global impacts of food waste. No free chairs were left at the special sessions of leftover-based meal prep show featuring a popular blogger. COVID-19 related restrictions such as mandatory mask wearing did not appear to lessen people’s love for infotainment and their interest in sustainable consumption.
